How It Works

From your free claim review to your higher settlement, we handle the entire appraisal process. Here is exactly what happens when you work with National Appraisers.

The auto insurance appraisal process is a contractual dispute resolution mechanism that allows policyholders to challenge their insurance company's valuation. When you invoke the appraisal clause in your insurance policy, both you and the insurer each appoint an independent appraiser. If the two appraisers cannot agree, they select an umpire, and the decision of any two of the three is binding. National Appraisers handles this entire process on your behalf, from the initial claim review through the final settlement.

STEP 01

Free Claim Review

Call us at 1-888-967-6488 or submit your information online. We review your insurance company's offer, your vehicle details, and the circumstances of your claim to determine if we can help increase your settlement.

This step is completely free and takes about 10 minutes. We will tell you honestly whether your claim has merit and give you an estimate of the potential increase.

STEP 02

We Prepare Your Appraisal Report

Our certified appraisers research your vehicle's actual market value using real comparable sales data from your local market. We prepare a detailed, certified appraisal report that documents the true value of your vehicle.

For total loss claims, we determine the actual cash value. For diminished value claims, we calculate the loss in market value. For body shop disputes, we document the full cost of proper repairs.

STEP 03

We Invoke the Appraisal Clause

We prepare and send the formal demand letter to your insurance company, invoking the appraisal clause in your policy. This is your contractual right, and the insurer is legally required to participate in the process.

The appraisal clause exists in virtually every auto insurance policy. It provides a binding dispute resolution mechanism that is faster and less expensive than litigation.

STEP 04

We Negotiate on Your Behalf

Our appraiser negotiates directly with the insurance company's appraiser, presenting our certified report and comparable sales evidence. We handle all communication so you do not have to deal with the insurance company.

Most disputes are resolved at this stage. Our appraisers have extensive experience negotiating with every major insurance company in the country.

STEP 05

You Get a Higher Settlement

In 95% of cases, we achieve a settlement significantly higher than the insurance company's original offer. The appraisal process results in a binding decision that the insurer must honor and pay.

On average, our clients receive 20-40% more than the insurer's original offer. If an umpire is needed, we manage that process as well.
